A good balance between life and work is key to good health and well-being. Research has been conducted into house prices, internet speeds, local services, transport, green spaces and leisure to find the best Irish counties to live and work. The research considered the viability of relocation for hybrid workers, whose must-haves are access to high-speed internet and reliable mobile connectivity, spaces for breaks and exercise, and proximity to essential amenities and transport networks.
Sligo has been named as the sixth best county for work-life balance in Ireland. It beat 20 other counties in Switcher.ie’s Work-life balance index - which lists the best places for the perfect work-life balance.
The study compared things like broadband speeds, mobile coverage, and access to local amenities like primary schools, GP surgeries, and major supermarkets. It also looked at factors important for well-being, like green spaces, leisure facilities and cafes, house prices, commuting and crime rate.
